Such a better experience than most steakhouses.
Waiter- Brandon exceptional.
Barkeep Shawn- top shelf.
Barkeep Tom- old and hilarious.
Food- delish
We sat upstairs so we could talk but went down into the Jazz bar for a drink after- super fun.
Lotsa people eating down there but looked like they have to speak up to hear over the delightful music.
Loved it - will be back to give dining in the jazz bar a try! -

Went there for the 4th time and I have to say it was a terrible experience. We arrived early for our reservation and had a drink at the bar. That was great as usual. Tipped extremely well. When we were sat down in the Jazz Room we walked past better seating (front and center to the music) and was sat off to the side. I asked the waiter if we could move to a 4-top to have a bit more room and then the night started to unravel. His first comment was "that's for 4 people". I pointed out 2 other 4-tops that had only 2 people sitting at them. Then he said he would go ask. He came back and said no. I pushed a little and he came back again and offered to seat me at a 4-top but even further in the corner. I declined and asked why the Manager hadn't come out after the second request? The waiter proceeded to ask me "do you know how reservations work?" I was ready to walk out then and there. Then the Manager comes out and said the table we were wanting was "specially reserved". I have tried to do that in the past and was told "we will do out best but no promises" so I wasn't fully buying the story. I finally submitted.
We ordered our appetizer and I tried to explain to the waiter why Iw as upset and tried to smooth things out with him which at that point I thought I had. When our steaks came out my $60 fillet was medium rare as ordered on the edges of the steak but was damn near raw in the middle. I flagged the manager and asked him if that looked like medium rare to him? He said it was and I told him he was crazy. He offered to cook another steak but at that point I had enough and said forget it. I then asked the waiter a few minutes later if that looked rare to him and his comment was "I am not getting into it, I would eat that steak". I promptly asked for my bill. I never once asked to be comped for anything as my Wife and I are not out to get free meals. 10 minutes later I had to almost yell at the waiter as he walked by to bring me my bill. He then stated the entire dinner was comped. We got up and left immediately. I would have gladly paid for our additional drinks and appetizer and even for my Wife's dinner. I have never been treated so rudely in such a place. We were insulted several times by both the waiter and the manager. I can't say I will go back there after that. This isn't an Outback. We usually drop between $200-$300 for 2 people when we go there along with tips. I expect to be treated a bit more courteously than we were. -

I ended up here after a recommendation from a friend who live and works in KC as the best steak joint in town. It has a cool, old school vibe with some history. Apparently the door in the men's bathroom leads to tunnels that were used during prohibition.
The food was good with a very knowledgeable wait staff. I tried the Wagyu strip as my first time ever having Wagyu. I am not a steak expert, and it was fine, but my tastes aren't refined enough to say that it was much different than any other type of steak.
Downstairs they have live jazz, which I wish I had stayed around to hear more of. If I come again, I would head straight for it. -

Me and hubby have been trying to get here for a while but I left a little disappointed. When we left nobody said anything abt the meal. Not tht it was bad but for the cost it wasn't great or memorable. I probably won't go bck I've had better steak. Not high on my recommendation list. We left to hear live music and drinks at another location.
